Lisa Benson, the Owner and Director of Transcend Learning, holds a Bachelor Degree in Applied Science and Physical Education, a current teacher’s registration, and qualifications and experience in the following areas:

Transcend Learning Founder

Lisa has built a thriving tutoring business, Transcend Learning, entirely on word-of-mouth referrals, serving over 300 students one-on-one in just 4 years - a testament to her exceptional teaching and leadership. With over 15 years of experience spanning across special needs and mainstream settings, and as a classroom teacher and specialist in PE and humanities. Lisa excels in confidence-building and individualised learning for students from prep to Year 10. A literacy enthusiast and self-proclaimed spelling nerd, she brings passion and expertise to every lesson.

At Transcend Learning, Lisa turned her own struggle with maths into an innovative strength, inspiring students to overcome challenges with confidence. Her unique method combines seamless assessment with engaging, skill-targeted lessons, ensuring students leave their first session feeling accomplished and excited to return. Known for her holistic, empathetic approach, Lisa fosters trust, connection, and exceptional results, with strategies poised to revolutionise math education nationally and globally.

Elly Cooney

Transcend Learning Tutor

Elly is passionate about Transcend Learning's unique approach to teaching maths, finding joy in helping students rebuild confidence and transform their mindset from hesitant to curious and engaged. With her background in education and a personal understanding of the challenges of learning maths, she tailors her teaching to each student, creating a supportive, engaging, and fun environment. Currently completing her Bachelor of Education at ACU, Elly dreams of teaching in remote Northern Territory communities in the future to provide opportunities for students in need. Outside of tutoring, she enjoys an active coastal lifestyle, balancing her time as a certified Pilates instructor and exploring the outdoors with her dog. Elly's empathy and positive approach make her an invaluable part of the Transcend Learning team.

Angela Duncan

Transcend Learning Administration

Angela's extensive background in education, inclusion support, and employment services has shaped her passion for empowering others and bridging educational gaps. With a Bachelor of Social Science, she believes learning thrives when people feel respected and valued. Inspired by the transformative impact of Transcend Learning, Angela is dedicated to creating positive change for students and families. Outside of work, she enjoys movies, reading, and exploring different cultures, reflecting her love for learning and growth.
